Help fill one or more of the following jobs. As a team, we will divide up the workload at the start of the shift as needed. KITCHEN - Volunteer will be working in Cafe kitchen, expediting orders plating food and assisting cook where needed. SERVER - Volunteer serves food to customer. This role involves being hospitable and welcoming. Building connections with customers is key to our success. RUNNER/BUSSER - The key to this volunteer position is the ability to multi-task. You may be removing dishes from tables, walking next door to pick up supplies, fold napkins, fill condiments or help separate dirty dishes in three-bay sink area.

Welcome customers. You are the first person our guest will meet. Being a greeter involves explaning a little bit about Essentials Cafe and how a "Pay as you Can" Cafe works (You will be trained on this). Mingle and get to know our community!

This position is for the volunteer that likes to work behind the scenes. You will be helping clean the cafe after hours. This may include but not limited to loading dish washer, moping floors, clean and disinfect counter areas and cleaning restroom.

A group of folks that will be preparing ingredients, to be used in soups, entrees, sandwiches. This may also include some baking. This will take place in the West Side Kitchen.
